Men’s Water Volleyball Wetsuit Vests
Men’s water volleyball wetsuit vests add warmth without compromising mobility. Wetsuit vests warm the core by trapping a thin layer of water between the skin and the neoprene, the wetsuit vest. The water that is trapped is warmed by your movement and activity and reduces the amount of heat you lose to the cool water. Wetsuit vests are a great choice to add warmth but not lose mobility because the arms are unrestricted. We do recommend wearing a rash guard underneath the wetsuit vest to reduce rash and protect you from UV rays. If you need a little more warmth for your arms and core we recommend a thermal rash guard.
Men’s water volleyball wetsuit vests are available in two kinds of neoprene, standard neoprene and smooth skin neoprene. Both work in the same way by trapping a thin layer of water between your skin and the neoprene. However, the smooth skin does wick water and wind better then the standard neoprene. Therefore, if your torso is out of the water for longer durations the smooth skin is the more efficient choice because smooth skin neoprene wicks water and wind better than standard neoprene. Smooth Skin neoprene is a little more delicate than standard neoprene. Always be sure to purchase a wetsuit vest that is very snug, reducing the chance of water flushing the vest. When in doubt go down a size, it is more effective tight than loose, over time the wetsuit vest will form fit.
The lining for both types of neoprene is a nylon jersey. Nylon jersey is smooth and comfortable and makes getting in and out of the wetsuit jackets, pants, vests and shorts easier. The inner nylon jersey also creates a more durable product. Additionally, both types of neoprene are made with closed cell foam, small bubbles of nitrogen gas, this reduces the absorption.
