Exercise helps build stronger muscles, including the heart, bones and a healthy respiratory system. The great effect, the more muscle you have the more calories you burn while resting. However, anything you do that uses energy is caloric output including an, often, overlooked priority sleeping.
In the simplest example if you eat more calories, caloric intake, than you expend, caloric output, then you will gain weight. If it continues on a daily basis you will gain lots of weight but a healthy lifestyle is only a mindset and can begin anytime.
